Subway is offering two of its 6-inch sandwiches for $2 throughout December and is giving away free sandwiches with the purchase of $25 gift cards, the company said.
The quick-service sandwich chain will sell the Meatball Marinara and the Cold Cut Combo sandwiches at the promotional price.
"Subway wants to show its customers some love this holiday season when everyone is worried about their economic future," the company told Nation's Restaurant News.
The Milford, Conn.-based chain also said customers would receive a free regular 6-inch sub with a $25 Subway Card purchase or reload through Dec. 29.
Subway will feature its Western Egg & Cheese sub as its $5 Footlong for the month, the company said. The breakfast sandwich will be available all day long during the promotion.
Subway's holiday promotions join an array of other restaurant chain offers designed to get customers to take meal breaks during their holiday shopping. Those include $2 discounts off any $5 spent at Fazoli's and a range of changing "HoliDaily" specials at Chili's Grill & Bar.
